Does college matter?

Skyler is making the right choice with her decision, you should never commit to anything that is such a big decision unless you are completely sure of it. In her case, she knew that doing something she wanted to do was more important than the money involved. This type of view and decision seems to be becoming more and more popular. The more open minded and independent young people are getting the more often they are trying non traditional courses and lifestyles. If Skyler truly believes that going to a regular college, getting a degree in a proffession that makes more money will not make her as happy and feel as accomplished as her cooking class does, than I believe she is making the right decision. Everyone is different on what makes them happy and what they believe in. Some people need to have a fancy job title with lots of money and expensive things to be happy so they do whatever means neseccary to obtain it. Skyler on the other hand, is obviously not in that group. She konws that cooking is what she loves to do and it makes her happy. Being able to use what she learns from class in every day life also seems to play a roll in her decision. Being able to go against the grain and her parents and choose her own path also says alot about her, she cares more about what she thinks about herself than what others do of her. No matter how much money you are making at any job, if you don't like it, than you will always be miserable to some degree. Even if you think it doesn't effect you, you're still spending on average over 40 hours a week doing something you hate. Over time that could begin to weigh on you heavily. By doing something she turly believes in Skyler is making it easy on herself and knows that she will never have that problem.
